Assigning an Owner for a Property

Assign an owner to a property who can be contacted about the property.

How many owners can a property have?

A party can own any number of properties.

The number of owners that a property can have depends on the way that the OWNER role is set up for properties. Some organisations limit the number of owners to one, others allow multiple owners for a property. See Associating a Role with an Object Type for more details.

To assign an owner to a property:

1. Click Properties to open the Properties module, then select the property to which you want to assign an owner.

   Note

   You can also assign an owner to a property from the Parties module.

2. On the Authority tab, click Insert. The Inserting Authority screen opens with the OWNER role selected by default.
3. In the Party field, select the party who owns this property. You can use the Search tool to search for the party if necessary.
4. In the Inserting Authority screen, click Save to save your changes.
