Changing or Cancelling an Order

Stopping an Order in an Emergency

You can immediately stop an order by using the Emergency Stop button on the Order Details screen. By default, this will immediately stop the current order, but will not affect future orders. The customer will only be charged for the water that is delivered.

  • You can make the Emergency Stop function available in the Irrigator Portal by setting the Customer Emergency Stop parameter to YES (available) or NO (not available). This can be set at the System, Group, Area, and Outlet levels. The setting on the most specific level applies - for example, the setting on the Outlet overrides the setting on the Area.
  • You can configure this behaviour so that any existing presets for the gate are also disabled. See Configuring Emergency Stop and Presets for details.
  • You can set the outlet as stopped to prevent any other orders from being placed at the outlet. See Disabling Ordering for details.

Cancelling an Order

Cancel an order from the Orders module or from the Order Details form in the Planning Schematic. You cannot cancel an order that has already run, or is in progress (use the Emergency Stop button if the order must be stopped immediately). If the order has not yet finished, you can change the finish time.

To cancel an order, select the order and click  Cancel the current order on the order toolbar.

Changing an Order

A customer may want to make changes to an order before it starts, or to change the finish time of an order that has already started.

You can change orders in the Orders module, or in the Planning Schematic. The type of change you should make depends on the order status:

Order Status Description

Requested

Make the changes in the Orders module to the Requested order items

Scheduled

Ideally you should make the changes in the Planning Schematic. A scheduled order has already been included in a plan, so any changes to the order should be made by the planner so they can assess the impact of the changes on the rest of the plan.

It is good practice to change both the Requested order items and the Scheduled order items.

Why change both the Requested and the Scheduled items?

  • Change the requested items so that you have a record of what the customer has actually ordered. For example, your business may try to match the scheduled order as closely as possible to the requested order. If you do not capture the change to the request, you will not know what the customer actually wants.
  • Change the scheduled items so that the changes are included in the plan.

Estimated

Ideally the changes should be made by the Planner in the Planning Schematic so that the impact on other orders can be managed.

In this case, update the estimated order items. The scheduled items cannot be updated. You can change the requested items if you wish.

To change an order:

  1. Open the order details in either the Orders module or in the Planning Schematic. The order items are listed in the Order Items panel at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Use the order status tabs to the left of the Order Items list to choose the order items to change. For example, choose the Estimated tab to change any Estimated order items.
  3. Choose the type of change you want to make by clicking the buttons to the right of the list. The buttons are enabled if a change is possible:
