Viewing Alarm Details and Notes

Use the Alarm List to view further details of tags and sites and to view and create notes to attach to sites. Notes are visible on the Network Schematic and in SCADAConnect Forms.

Viewing Alarm Details

Right-click on an alarm on the Alarm List and choose one of these options to view further details:

Poll - poll the tag to load the most recent tag values. See Polling and Bursting
Trend - plot a trend of tag values in the Trending tool. See Trending Data
Properties - view tag details, including alarm settings for the tag, on the Tag Details screen. See Viewing and Setting Tag Properties.
SCADA - go to the SCADA screen for this site (if available).
Alarm Causes and Info - this displays documentation relating to the tag if it is available. This content is typically provided by the customer. Contact Rubicon Support if you would like these fields populated.

Creating and Viewing Notes

Notes can be attached to a site to provide additional information for planners, field operators and anyone else can view the note. Notes are visible in SCADAConnect Form, in the Alarm List, and on the Planning Schematic.

Example

Add a note to a site to explain what action is required to follow up on an alarm.

To add or view a note from the Alarm List:

Select an alarm and click the Add/View Notes button on the toolbar to add a note to the site where this alarm is located. If there are existing notes for the site, they are listed in a pop up screen.

To view a note, select the note from the list. (If there is only one note, the selection list is not displayed.)
To add a new note, click Add and enter your note text. Click Save to save your changes.
To delete a note, select the note and click Delete
