TCC Tuning

TCC Tuning Parameters determine the behaviour of the chosen network control strategy. They are only available at NeuroFlo configured regulator sites.

The parameters displayed on the TCC Tuning screen may include the following. Further details of these parameters are available in the NF-OP-10 NeuroFlo User Guide.

Field Description Tag
System Identification Enabled When this setting is enabled, the following data is burst to the host every 60 seconds in a single packet that is timestamped at the host.
  • Upstream and downstream water levels
  • Flow rate
  • Gate elevations

SYSIDENT_ENABLED

  • 0-NO
  • 1-YES
Peer Comm Loop Timer Controls the frequency of communication to the peer site when using a network control strategy. Defaults to 180 s PEER_COMM_LOOP
Anti Windup Status

Indicates if Anti-windup is currently ON or OFF

Windup can occur when a site is in TCC, Upstream or Downstream control mode and it is physically unable to deliver the requested flow. In this case, the controller may continue to request (or 'wind up') further changes to the flow in an attempt to correct the difference.

To prevent this situation, the controller is placed in Anti-windup state to limit what it can request.

ANTIWINDUP_STATUS

  • 0-OFF
  • 1-ON
Peer Communications Status

Indicates whether communication with the peer site is working, or if the water level data for a peer site is unavailable or out-of-range.

Applies to sites using a network control strategy.

PEER_COMM_STATUS

  • 0-OK
  • 1-FAIL
TCC D/S Site ID The MDLC address (RTU address) of the peer site when using a network control strategy.

The current site requests upstream water levels and flow data from the peer.

TCC_DS_SITE_ID.
TCC Level Current upstream water level (the USL_VAL tag) at the downstream peer site. TCCL_VAL
TCC Setpoint

Desired operating level for the downstream peer site.

When using a network control strategy the site continuously monitors the water level at a distant peer and automatically moves to maintain the distant water level at this desired operating level.

TCCL_SP
TCC Lower Bound Minimum flow the controller will pass when the control objective is Upstream or Downstream Level control or when using a network control strategy. TCC_LOWER_BOUND
TCC Upper Bound Maximum flow the controller will pass whilst operating in TCC, Upstream or Downstream Level control. TCC_UPPER_BOUND
Peer Flow Flow rate (FLOW_VAL) at the downstream peer site
NeuroFlo V1 NeuroFlo V1 is a value that is calculated by the central TCC server and sent to each site that is operating under Network control, Upstream Level control, or Downstream Level control. NeuroFlo V1 is usually the total flow leaving the pool. NEUROFLO_V1
NeuroFlo V2 NeuroFlo V1 is a value that is calculated by the central TCC server and sent to each site that is operating under Network control, Upstream Level control, or Downstream Level control. NeuroFlo V2 is usually the total demand below the site. NEUROFLO_V2
NeuroFlo V3

A margin or deadband above the total demand (NeuroFlo V2) that defines the maximum flow allowed to leave the site. Applies to sites under Network control, Upstream Level control, or Downstream Level control.

NEUROFLO_V3
NeuroFlo V10

The minimum flow allowed to leave the site as a percentage of the total demand below the site (NeuroFlo V2). Usually set to zero. Applies to sites under Network control, Upstream Level control, or Downstream Level control.

NEUROFLO_V10
NeuroFlo V4-11 These setpoint tags are associated with the NeuroFlo controller and are configured by Rubicon as part of the installation and commissioning process. NEUROFLO_Vx where x is the variable number
Lead Compensator Status This setpoint is associated with the NeuroFlo controller and is configured by Rubicon as part of the installation and commissioning process. LEAD_CONTROL_ENABLE
Lead Compensator T Constant This setpoint is associated with the NeuroFlo controller and is configured by Rubicon as part of the installation and commissioning process. LEAD_T_CONST
Lead Compensator Alpha Constant This setpoint is associated with the NeuroFlo controller and is configured by Rubicon as part of the installation and commissioning process. LEAD_ALPHA_CONST
Flow SP Unbounded Flow setpoint requested by the controller during level control mode.
