Creating an Alarm Group

Create an alarm group to generate an alarm from a set of related tags.

To create an alarm group:

1. Click Alarm Actions to open the Alarm Actions module.
2. Click Add to create a new alarm group.
3. Enter a description for the alarm group.
4. Choose the alarm object. This is the system, group or object with which the tags in the alarm group are associated.

   Example

   Use this option to split up responsibility for responding to alarms. For example, direct alarms for different planning groups to the appropriate planners.

5. If you chose Group or Object, click Search to open the search tool for the group or object. Use the search tool to select the group or object that you want to use.
6. Choose a filter method to select the tags.
7. Unless you chose to use All tags, select the tag name, alarm priority or attribute type for this alarm group using the search tool or drop-down options.
8. Choose the tag type, either analog or digital or both.
9. Choose the alarm state trigger. This will depend on the tag type because different tag types support different alarm state triggers.
10. Click Save to save your changes.
