Editing Multiple Attribute Values

Use the Attribute Editor > Multi-Value Editor to set an attribute to the same value for many objects at once.

Note

You can select any attribute in the Attribute Editor, but not all attributes will be editable. Only attributes whose type is set to Enterable can be edited.

Example

Use this tool to reset a date attribute to the current date on multiple objects at once.

To edit multiple attribute values:

  1. Click Attribute Editor to open the Attribute Editor module.
  2. On the Multi-Value Editor tab, click Find Values to open the Find Objects tool.
  3. Use the Find tool to specify the object types and attribute that you want to edit and click Find to load the objects.
  4. Select the rows that you want to edit. You can select with the mouse as usual, or use the Selection buttons at the bottom right of the screen:
    • Select All - selects every row
    • Value Rows - selects every row where the attribute value is set
    • Blank Rows - selects every row where the attribute value is not set
    • Select None - de-selects every row
  5. With your rows selected, click Modify Selected to open the Multi-value editor popup. This displays the number of rows that will be changed.
  6. Enter the new attribute value and (optionally) the effective date. If you do not set the date, it defaults to the current date and time.
  7. Click Save to save your changes.
