Specifying the period for data export

The Start Time and End Time in the Data Export screen, and the Increment Date Parameters each run checkbox in the Scheduling screen work together to determine from what period the exported data is selected.

Setting the Start Time and End Time

Set each time in one of the following ways:

  • Choose a specific date and time using the Date/Time picker
  • Set the date and time to either:
    • Today - 00:00 midnight on the current date
    • Now - the current time and current date
  • Set an offset in hours or days for either the start time or the end time.

Incrementing the data period for scheduled exports

If you run the data export regularly, you may want to change the period each time you run the export. There are two ways to do this:

  • Set the times using Today or Now and by specifying offsets in hours or days. Do not select the Increment Date Parameters each run checkbox.

    Examples

    To export the data for the previous 7 days:

    • Set the End Time to Today
    • Set the Start Time to 7 days before the end time.
    • Select the Recurring checkbox and set the recurrence interval to whatever you prefer.

    To export the data for the previous 7 days:

    • Set the End Time to Today
    • Set the Start Time to 7 days before the end time.
    • Select the Recurring checkbox and set the recurrence interval to whatever you prefer.
  • Set a specific date and time for either the Start Time or the End Time. You can specify the other setting using any option. Select the Increment Date Parameters each run checkbox so that any explicitly set dates are updated every time the task runs. These dates are incremented by the recurrence interval for the task.

    Example

    To export the data monthly, for the first week of each month:

    • Set the Start Time to the first day of the current month.
    • Set the End Time to 7 days after the Start Time.
    • Select the Recurring checkbox and set the recurrence interval to 1 month.
    • Select the Increment Date Parameters each run checkbox. Each time the export is run, the Start Time is updated to the first of the current month and the End Time is always one week later.
