Scheduling a Report
To schedule a report:
- In the main menu, find the report that you want to schedule and double-click the report icon to open the report properties screen.
- Specify any schedule parameters.
- Choose the format that you want to Generate As.
- Choose an option in the Generate As field. The following options are available:
- CSV
- HTML
- Excel from template. See Using an Excel Template for Report Output and Create an Excel template for more information about this option.
- Select Publish Report.
- Choose a report Destination:
- Choose Email to have a copy of the report delivered by email. You can specify a Party to receive the report. By default, the report will be emailed to you.
- Choose Email on content to receive a copy of the report only if it has some content.
- Choose Email on error to receive an email if the report fails for some reason.
- Choose Save to directory and specify a File path to save a copy of the report.
Note
Note that the file path is for the server on which the report will run, not your local machine. You can only save to file locations that are accessible from the report server. To save to your local machine, you can preview the report instead. See Previewing a Report for details.
- Choose Print to print the report and select a Printer from the list.
- Click Schedule to open the schedule screen.
- Enter the Start Date and Time when the report should first run. If you want the report to run more than once, select the Recurring checkbox and enter the Recurrance interval.
- If you want to change the date parameters each time the report is run, select the Increment Date Parameters each run checkbox. The date parameters will be incremented by the recurrence interval.
Example
You might increment the date parameters if you run a weekly task to report on activities for the previous week.
- Click Save to save your changes and submit the report to the scheduler.
You can change the report schedule in the Scheduled Reports and Tasks module. See Changing Report and Task Scheduling for more details.
