Preventing an Authority from Being Inherited

It is convenient to add authorities to a role by adding sub-roles, but there may be some authorities that you do not want to be inherited. You can use the Security Manager to prevent an authority from being inherited by a parent role.

To prevent a sub-role authority from being inherited:

1. In the Security Manager, select the authority that you want to configure.
2. On the Details tab, click Edit. This makes the fields on the tab editable.
3. Clear the Inheritance checkbox to prevent the authority from being inherited. This will apply for all the authorities for this object.
4. Click Save to save your changes.
