Active Alarms

Use the Active Alarms screen to view and manage any currently active alarms across your network. An active alarm is an alarm set on a tag whose value is still in an alarmed state.

  • To view all alarms including active and expired alarms, use the Alarm > History option on the Sites or the Tags screen.
  • To view alarm action configuration, use the Alarm Actions screens

By default, the list shows High priority alarms sorted by alarm set time with the most recent alarms at the top, but you can filter and sort the Active Alarm list to show whatever alarms you need.

To filter and sort the alarm list:

  1. Open the Active Alarms screen and enter the following filter criteria:

    FieldDescription

    Site

Select an individual site or choose All to show al sites. Note that the site list may include sites with no active alarms.

    Priority

Select an alarm priority setting, or choose All to show all priorities. The Alarm priority is color coded.

    Tag Type

Choose between Digital and Analogue tag types or choose All to show both.

In general, digital tag types show the status of equipment and communications, and analogue tags show sensor readings, but there are exceptions to this.

    Acknowledgement

Choose whether to view Acknowledged, Unacknowledged or All alarms.

  2. Click Go to apply your changes.
  3. When the active alarms table has been loaded, you can click on any column header to sort by that column. For example, click on the Alarm Priority header to sort alarms by priority.

Acknowledging Alarms

Acknowledge an alarm to indicate that you have taken responsibility for dealing with the problem. Acknowledging an alarm stops any pending alarm actions such as emails or other notifications that may be configured for the alarm.

You must be logged in to SCADAConnect Web as a WEB ADMINISTRATOR to acknowledge alarms in the web interface.

To acknowledge an alarm:

Note:

You cannot reverse this operation to unacknowledge an alarm.

  1. On the Active Alarms list, tick the alarm check box in the Acknowledged column. You may find it convenient to sort the list by acknowledgement state, or to filter to show only Unacknowledged alarms.
  2. Click the Acknowledge button at the bottom of the form. This is enabled as soon as any of the Acknowledged check boxes have been ticked.
