Creating a Billing Group
Charges can be applied either to an individual account, or to an area or group. Any properties that are included in the area or group (or have outlets or authorisations in the area or group) can have the charge applied to their accounts.
You can use existing areas or groups for billing, or create your own billing groups. Groups can include other groups and areas, so you can set up a complex billing structure if necessary.
This topic explains how to set up a single group for billing, and add properties to the group.
To create a group:
- Click
Groups to open the Groups module.
- Select the type of group that you want to create, and click
Add Group to create a new group of that type. Typically you will choose a
- Enter a Name for the group and click Save to save your changes.
To add a property to the billing group:
- In the Groups module, select the billing group .
- On the Components tab, click Edit to make the component list editable.
- Click
Add, then select the property that you want to add as a group component.
- Click Save to save your changes. The group will be generated to add all the included properties to the group. This may take some time.
You can now select this group when you create or modify a charge type.
