Creating a Mobile Meter Reading Export File
Create a Mobile Meter Reading export file to send the details of areas and sites to field officers who collect meter readings using the Infield Meter Reading app on their mobile phones. The export file can be emailed directly to authorised parties and is in the correct format to import into the mobile app.
Typically you will create a separate file for each field officer, as they will all be responsible for different areas.
To create a mobile meter reading export file:
- Click
Mobile Meter Export to open the Mobile Meter Export module.
- Enter the following details:
Specify which sites to include:
Field Description Area/Group
Find and select an area or group and export details of field areas and sites within that area or group.
Party
Export details of all sites related to a specific party.
Property/Outlet
Export details relating to a single site
Exclude Automated
Exclude sites where the meter reading can be read remotely. These are Rubicon sites where the accumulated volume is stored in the FLOW_ACU_SR accumulator tag. See Accumulators Module for more information about accumulator tags.
Exclude Pipe Permit
Exclude sites where usage is controlled by a pipe permit
Exclude UnMetered
Exclude sites where there is no meter.
Exclude Pumps
Exclude pump sites
Specify whether reason types must be provided by the meter reader
By default, if a reading is anomalous in some way a reason must be recorded before the reading can be saved. Choose Disable Reason Type Prompt to override this behaviour in the meter reading apps.
Specify the meter types to include:
Field Description Meter Type
Include only the selected metered sites - this can be:
- All
- Unshared
- Pipe permitted (PPM)
Exclude PPMs
Exclude metered pipe-permitted sites
Specify the readings to include:
Field Description Export On
Specify the types of reading that a site must have to be included in the export file:
- General - include all readings.
- Delivery since last meter reading - include only sites that have had a delivery since the last meter reading. You are prompted to enter an Effective Date. Enter a date before the current day to exclude outlets with orders starting today, but with no earlier orders.
- No delivery since start of season - include only sites that have not had a delivery since the start of the season. This option may be useful if you need to check for unauthorised usages at a site.
- Outlet ordered usage > allocation - include only sites where the water ordered exceeds the allocation for the property.
- Within % of exceeding allocation - include only sites where the usage is currently within a specified percentage of the available allocation. You are prompted to specify a percentage.
- Not read since date - include sites that have not had a meter reading since a specified date. You are prompted to specify a date and time.
Specify whether to include remote readings
Include Operating Orders Include remote readings
Include or exclude readings that were taken remotely, that is by automatically reading sensor data rather than by visiting the meter in person.
Specify the export file name
FileName or Folder
Choose a location and file name for the exported file. The export process will use the filename you specify and add the date as a suffix.
Specify the recipients and the return address
Single Party
Select a single party to whom to send the file. Typically you will send a file to the field officer responsible for the meter readings in the export area.
Multiple parties
Select this option if you want to send the file to more than one party. Use the Add and Remove buttons to manage the list of recipients.
As you enter recipients, the system will check to ensure that they have an email address and will display a warning if they do not.
Return address
This is the email address to which the completed meter reading data will be returned. Choose an addressee from the drop-down list.
See Adding or Changing a Return Email Address if you need to add or modify a return email address.
- Click Email to generate and email the export file.
