Configuring Low Volume Ordering

Configure system parameters

  • Order by Crop - This must be set to Y. You cannot use low volume ordering unless you enable ordering by crop type. Note that this means that you must configure crop types for orders and ALL orders must be placed by crop type.

    Note

In the background, DMS uses a special "crop type" for low volume ordering. This is selected automatically when customers create the order and is not displayed to customers.

The crop type is specified in the Crop Type for Low Volume parameter, but this will typically be configured for you.

  • Min Start time for Low Volume Order - use this to set a default minimum delay in minutes before the order start time in minutes. This parameter can also be set for other objects such as areas or outlets.
  • Max Start time for Low Volume order - use this to set a default maximum delay in minutes before the order start time. This parameter can also be set for other objects such as areas or outlets.

Configure the outlet

The following attributes can be configured for individual outlets or for outlet types.

Note

The first two attributes must be set to Yes or the outlet will not be available for low volume ordering in the Irrigator Portal.

  • Automatic control - you must set this to Yes to enable low volume ordering for an outlet.
  • Low Volume Order Enabled - you must set this to Yes to enable low volume ordering for an outlet or outlet type.
  • Low volume order control mode - use this to set the control mode for orders at an outlet or outlets. The options are Flow or Position.
  • Low volume order setpoint - use this to specify the setpoint for low volume orders at this outlet or outlet type. The way that this value is used depends on the setting of the Low volume order control mode. For example, if the control mode is set to Flow, the setpoint specifies a flow value, if it is set to Position it indicates a position value.
  • Low volume order max duration - use this to set the maximum allowed duration of low volume orders at this outlet or outlet type.
