Metering Parameters

These parameters control the way that the system handles meter readings, particularly anomalous meter readings:

Parameter Description

Meter Read Variation Ranges

These parameters allow you to set different tolerance limits for the differences between metered usage and estimated usage in the Meter Reading Entry Module Meter readings whose metered usage differs from the estimated usage by more than the specified tolerance are flagged as needing special attention.

The Meter Read Variation Ranges parameter creates the ranges of metered water usage for which you can apply different variation limits, Specify the start value of each range and separate ranges with commas. The parameter can apply to the whole system or to individual objects (such as planning groups or areas).

Example: If the value of the parameter is:

0, 2.1, 10.1, 20.1

This sets up four ranges of 0 - 2 ML, 2.1 - 10 ML, 10.1 - 20 ML and 20.1 ML and above

Meter Read Variation limits

Specifies the allowable variation limits that apply to the ranges set up in the Meter Read Variation Ranges parameter (where 1 is 100% variance).

Example: If the value of the parameter is:

0.5, 0.25, 0.2, 0.1

This sets up tolerances of 50%, 25%, 20% and 10% for the four ranges specified in the ranges parameter.

Meter Read Variation No Flow limit

Sets a maximum metered usage that can be recorded where there are no orders (and thus no estimated usage) for the outlet.

Meter Reading Usage Threshold

Sets a lower limit for recording meter readings. If the reading is lower than the threshold, it is not recorded in the meter reading history or in usage reports. This may be used to suppress readings caused by meter creep.

The parameter is set on an object type (for example system, group/area, outlet type).
