Displaying SCADA Screens and Alarms from the Planning Schematic

When you open a planning area or group in the Planning Schematic, you have the option of running SCADA. This allows you to view the Alarm List or open a SCADA Connect screen to view network objects.

See the SCADAConnect Desktop Online Help for more details of working with SCADAConnect Desktop features.

When SCADA Connect is launched, it uses an Application Runtime Parameter to determine the launch options such as what screens are loaded, and what application options are available.

Note

Application runtime parameters are created and configured in the SCADA Connect Forms Application Runtimes module.

If you want to display SCADA screens for sites from a planning group or area that is loaded in the Planning Schematic, you must specify what application settings to use. To do this, you must create a relationship between the planning area or planning group, and the appropriate application runtime parameter. In DMS/IPMG2, you can do this, for example, in the Planning Areas module or in the Groups module.

Note

If you have not created such a relationship, the SCADA option may not be available, or SCADA Connect may open with only default screens available.

To configure a planning area or group for viewing SCADA screens

  1. Open the DMS Planning Areas module or the Groups module and select the area or group that you want to configure.
  2. On the Relations tab, click Insert.
  3. Select Super Object.
  4. Select a Relation Type of SCADA.
  5. In the Sub Object field, click Find and search for objects of the type Application runtime parameters.
  6. Select the runtime parameter that you want to use.
  7. Click Save to save your changes.
