Creating a Planning Group

Follow these steps to create and configure a planning group:

To create a planning group:

  1. Click Planning Groups to open the Planning Groups module.
  2. Click Add Group to create a new planning group.
  3. Enter a Name for the planning group and click Save to save your changes.

To add an area to a planning group:

You can add an area or any network object, including another planning group, as a member of a planning group.

Note

Take care configuring planning groups. If you set a planning group active, DMS checks to make sure that none of the planning areas in the group overlap with other active planning areas.

  1. In the Planning Groups module, select the group to which you want to add a component.
  2. On the Areas tab, click Edit to make the component list editable.
  3. Click Add, then select the area that you want to add to the group.
  4. Click Save to save your changes. The group will be generated to add all the included objects to the group. This may take some time.
