Generating Network Areas and Groups

Use the Generate Network Areas and Groups tool to inspect all defined areas and calculate what network objects should be included in each area. The tool also calculates the contents of groups.

The network generation process is configured to run regularly, but you can run it manually if necessary. Network generation may take some time.
You should generate areas and groups whenever you make a change to an area or group that might affect the contents of the area or group.

Note

The contents of an area are always calculated by traversing the area, but the contents of a group can be explicitly specified (although groups may contain areas).

To generate network areas and groups:

Click Generate Network Areas and Groups. A message is displayed when the process is complete, or an error message if generation fails.
