Adding Components to a Group

You can add objects to a group on either the Components or the Relations tab.

  • When you add objects on the Components tab you must use the COMPONENT relation type
  • When you add objects on the Relations tab, you can choose a relation type.

This topic describes adding a component on the Components tab. .

Note

If you use the Components tab, the group is generated as soon as it is saved. If you use the Relations tab, you must use the Generate Network Areas and Groups tool in the application's Main Menu to generate the group.

To add a component on the components tab:

  1. In the Groups module, select the group to which you want to add a component.
  2. On the Components tab, click Edit to make the component list editable.
  3. Click Add, then select the object that you want to add as a group component. You can only use objects that have been configured to have a relationship with the selected object type as parent.
  4. Click Save to save your changes. The group will be generated to add all the included objects to the group. This may take some time.
