Dealing with Unsuccessful Transfers
Transfers may be unsuccessful for a variety of reasons. For example, the transfer file may be too large or the connection may fail. You can click Edit and add a comment to indicate the reason for any problems.
You can correct an unsuccessful transfer by regenerating and re-sending the extract as follows:
To repeat the extraction and transfer process:
- In the Extracts module, select the dataset extract that you need to re-extract.
- Click
Generate Dataset Extract. The Extract tool opens with the dataset details and the extraction period already entered.
Note
Use the extraction tool in the Datasets module if you need to modify the extraction period. See Generating WDTF Dataset Extracts for details.
- Select Include Transfer to send the extract to the transfer recipient.
- For WDTF datasets, you can select Force Metadata to include any related metadata.
- Click Run Now to run the extraction and initiate the transfer.
Marking an Extract as Acknowledged
If a transfer has a status of Failed, you can manually change the status to Acknowledged. This indicates that you are aware of the problem with the transfer and makes it easier to find new failed transfers.
If you have scheduled regular extracts, the next extract will include any data that would have been in the failed transfer.
To set a WDTF Extract status to Acknowledged
- Select the Failed dataset extract in the extracts list.
Note
Use the
Find tool to search for the extract if necessary.
- Click
Acknowledge Extract to set the status of the original file to Acknowledged.
