Planning Areas Module

Where is this module?

This module is usually in the Network tab of the application

The Planning Areas module is where you can create and manage planning areas. It includes information common to all types of area, as well as information specific to planning areas such as Ration Periods, Performance, and Spill Allocations.

What is a Planning Area?

A planning area is a type of area that is intended for use as the basis of a plan for order scheduling. Planning areas must be continuous, but they are commonly grouped in planning groups which can contain one or more planning areas including non-contiguous planning areas.

Active Planning Areas

To use a planning area for planning, it must be Active. Active planning areas may not overlap.

Displaying SCADA screens from the Planning Schematic

If you view a planning area/group in the planning schematic, you can launch SCADA Connect from the planning schematic to view site details. In order to load the correct screens and options you must create a relationship between the planning area/group and an application runtime parameter that holds configuration options for SCADA Connect. See Displaying SCADA Screens and Alarms from the Planning Schematic for more details.
