Creating and Configuring a Group

Follow these steps to create and configure a group:

Pre-requisites

Before you can create and populate a group, the group object type and relation type must be created and configured. You do not need to do this if you are using an existing group type or relation type:

• Create a new object type in the Object Types module. Make sure that the parent object type is Group, or one of its sub-types.
• Create the relation type for the group in the Relation Types module.
• Associate the relation type with the group object type in the Object Types module.

To create a group:

1. Click Groups to open the Groups module.
2. Select the type of group that you want to create and click Add Group to create a new group of that type.
3. Enter a Name for the group and click Save to save your changes.

You can now:

• Add components to the group
• Grant authorities for the group
